THE MAKING follows the process of fabricating everyday products from raw materials. No.329 looks at the process of how Japanese custard pudding is made.
The ingredients of pudding include raw milk, egg yolks, butter, nonfat milk powder, sugar, condensed milk and agar. These ingredients are mixed together in several tanks to produce the 'pudding mixture'. The mixture is then placed in a cup and caramel is poured in, and the heavy caramel sinks to the bottom. When the cup is cooled with the lid on, the agar and other ingredients harden, producing pudding with its unique texture.
